Baby Born at St. Joseph’s to Receive New Heart

One-month old Turner Mathew Hodge will receive a heart transplant Sunday afternoon at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis. When Turner was born, a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese noticed something was not right about his color and tests confirmed something was wrong. Sarah Hodge, Turner’s mother, stated she is thankful to the nurse who noticed and added that Turner most likely would not survived the night if the problem had not been discovered.
After Turner’s transplant, he is expected to be able to lead a normal life. Everyone at St. Joseph’s is praying for baby Turner to have a successful surgery and recovery!
